Student Organizations
Students in UE's Department of Languages and Cultures have numerous opportunities to take part in groups and activities that complement classroom curriculum while providing leadership experience and the opportunity to form lifelong connections with other students across UE's campus.
Among those opportunities are:
- Foreign language clubs, which complement classroom work through activities like films and videos, parties and contests, and inviting guest speakers and performers to campus.
- The International Students Club, founded in 1965, has both international and American student members. The International Bazaar is an Evansville tradition.
- Phi Sigma Iota, the international foreign language honorary society, welcomes foreign language students of high academic standing. Membership in Phi Sigma Iota (over 60,000 students in the United States and abroad) is the highest academic honor one can obtain in the field of foreign languages.
- The Global Living and Learning Community at UE is a floor of Moore Residence Hall dedicated to cultural discovery and language interaction. The floor houses international and US students, providing them to form lifelong friendships while learning firsthand about diverse cultures from around the world.
